Super Edit™ and the Year 2000

DPE-500 Series
The new DPE-500 Series Hybrid Editing Systems uses WindowsNT for the operating system. Editware is currently shipping the SP3 version of WindowsNT which meets Microsoft's Year 2000 "Compliant" criteria.

 
Microsoft Year 2000 Compliance Statement

"A Year 2000 Compliant product from Microsoft will not produce errors processing date data in connection with the year change from December 31, 1999 to January 1, 2000 when used with accurate date data in accordance with its documentation and the recommendations and exceptions set forth in the Microsoft Year 2000 Product Guide, provided
all other products (e.g., other software, firmware and hardware) used with it properly exchange date data with the Microsoft product. A Year 2000 Compliant product from Microsoft will recognize the Year 2000 as a leap year."


VPE Series
Most of the VPE Series of edit controllers (VPE-141L, VPE-241, VPE-241L, VPE-151, VPE-251, VPE-331, VPE-341 and VPE-351) can be upgraded to be Year 2000 Compliant, meeting the BSI DISC PD2000-1, IS0 8601:1988 and ANSI X3.30 Y2K compliancy standards by adding the Y2K Option to your existing system. This option can be purchased from any of the many Editware dealers around the world or directly from Editware.

Tech Note for installing the Year 2000 Upgrade Option for the VPE-141L, VPE-241, VPE-241L, VPE-151, VPE-251, VPE-331, VPE-341 and VPE-351 editing systems.
With this upgrade option, both RT-11 and Super Edit now display and use 4 digit years
and are fully Y2K compliant.
